Our History
Movement for Change
Grew out of a grass root organization named " Progressive Alliance Community Equity Resources and Strategies" (PACERS) along with a grass root committee whose purpose was to rename Palafox or Alcaniz Streets to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive
Movement for Change
Was officially founded in October 1997 as a replacement for PACERS and the grass root committee,to address additional community issues.
Movement for Change
Goal is to improve the prevailing disparities that exists in education, law enforcement, voting processes, variation of juvenile intervention and unaddressed solutions. It challenges that status quo, non-accountability of respective Escambia County elected officials and empowers the community to make a difference.
Movement for Change
Members banded together for a common cause for two and a half years and found common ground for Alcaniz Street to be renamed Dr. Martin Luther King Drive.
